Pi Beta Phi 3rd Annual Walk for Literacy

The University of Washington Chapter of Pi Beta Phi and the Seattle Alumnae Club of Pi Beta Phi, invite you to join their 3rd Annual Walk for Literacy. This event will take place on Saturday, April 5th from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at Green Lake, (adjacent to the Aqua Theatre). Participants should bring a new children’s book as the entry fee to help the Pi Phis reach their goal. The books will be donated to Page Ahead Children’s Literacy Program. Monetary donations will be accepted in place of books as well.

Pi Beta Phi has been committed to education and literacy since 1910.

A Taste for Reading: luncheon to benefit children's literacy

Our fifth annual event will take place on Wednesday, April 9, at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center on Seattle’s Waterfront. A complimentary lunch will be served at 11:30a, followed by the program at noon, concluding promptly at 1p. A donation will be requested during the program, and reservations must be made in advance.

Past years' programs have included the Kimball Elementary ukulele band, the Cascade Elementary Shakespeare Players and young authors from local schools.

The Wizard Rockumentary: Rocking and Rowling

At 11:59p on Friday, April 11th, Spokane will celebrate the premiere of The Wizard Rockumentary, at the Garland Theatre. The film is an independent feature length documentary exploring Harry Potter fandom, the Wizard Rock community, and the goals of these musicians to promote literacy. Twenty percent of ticket sales will benefit Page Ahead, and there will be an opportunity to donate books. Fans and non-fans will all enjoy this family friendly film, and know that their participation supports Spokane Page Ahead sites.

Pi Nu Iota's Literacy Laps

On Saturday, April 19th, the Pi Nu Iota will host Literacy Laps, a walk-a-thon that will benefit Page Ahead. The Pi Nu Iotas work to provide a strong and supportive sisterhood that promotes leadership, diligence and strength.

The UW iSchool community will host a Scrabble Tournament to benefit Page Ahead at the College Inn Pub. Interested parties can either register online or at the door, with all registration fees going to benefit Page Ahead. We are so T-H-A-N-K-F-U-L for their support!
